What is a lung function test?
A breathing test.
Testing measures the amount of air you can breathe in and out of your lungs, and how hard and fast you can breathe out. It measures your overall lung function.
The test can be used to assist in the diagnosis and ongoing management of respiratory problems.
The test is not painful – it just needs you to sit in a chair and put in your best effort to breathe out as hard as you can! It can be tiring as it needs effort to get accurate results.
The test may include use of Ventolin, a ‘reliever’ puffer to assess its impact on your breathing.
Who can refer for testing?
Your GP can refer you for Lung Function testing.
Dr Campagnaro will review the results and send the completed report to your referring doctor.
Dr Campagnaro utilises Lung Function testing as a component of both initial assessment and ongoing review consultations with his patients.
